Productivity and Time Management Coach: Finally Do What You Keep Saying You'll Do

You know what you want to get done. You've known for a while.

You're busy from morning to night, and the thing that matters most is still waiting for "next week".

Let's get it done.

Why a productivity coach starts with you, not a template

Most productivity advice is somebody else's system. It worked for them. You copy it, it lasts ten days, and you decide the problem is you.

As your productivity coach, I start somewhere else: how you work, where you get in your own way, and what your life actually looks like right now. A parent doing the school run and a founder with a team of twenty need very different weeks. (Shocking, I know.)

We use timeless productivity principles. Then we shape them around you, so you work with yourself instead of against yourself. Since 2017 I've coached ambitious professionals, leaders and business owners, and the pattern is always the same: once you stop fighting yourself, getting things done gets a lot easier.

Client story

"I've already hit my first monthly target and I now feel excited about growing my business with a renewed sense of focus and belief in myself."

Julie McKinney

Professional Organiser

Julie started her own business after a break to focus on her family. No business experience, no clear strategy, and often no idea where to start. Through our work she found clarity, direction and the confidence to act, and hit her first monthly target.

And yes, she's a professional organiser. Organising other people's homes and feeling clear in your own head are two very different skills.

What is productivity coaching?

Productivity coaching is for capable people who are busy all day and still not getting to what matters most.

Here's my take. The most effective time management is self-management. That's what time management coaching with me is built on. You can't manage time. It passes at the same speed whatever you do. What you can manage is yourself: your attention, your energy, your decisions, and the feelings that pull you off course.

Most people already know what to do. What stops them is the knot in the stomach before the big task, the doubt that it's good enough yet, the itch to check emails "just for a minute". So they do the easy, busy work instead and call it a productive day.

Whatever your goal, it comes down to two skills: managing your mind and managing your emotions. Mental strength and emotional resilience. That's why I work as a mindset and productivity coach. We build the system, and we build the person who uses it.

And something else happens along the way. Every time you keep a promise to yourself, you trust yourself a little more. Clients come to me to get more done. They also end up with a much better relationship with themselves.

Is productivity coaching for you?

Count how many of these happened recently.

  • You're busy from the moment you wake up, and at 6pm the most important thing on your list still isn't done.

  • "I'll start on Monday." You've said it so often, Monday has stopped believing you.

  • You have five priorities. Which means, if we're honest, you have none.

  • You reorganise the to-do list, colour-code the calendar, download a new app. The big task is still waiting.

  • You answer every message within minutes, then wonder where the day went.

  • You start the week with a great plan. By Wednesday you're answering everyone else's emergencies.

  • You're waiting to feel ready, motivated or inspired. Some weeks that feeling never turns up.

  • There's a project you've wanted to start for years. You think about it most days. You still haven't started.

I work with business owners, leaders and ambitious professionals. Many come to me looking for a productivity coach for entrepreneurs. They're often overwhelmed entrepreneurs wearing every hat in the business, from sales to staff to the books. Others lead inside a company, where meetings and other people's priorities swallow the day. Different diaries. Same core work.

Time management coaching: what we work on

  • Know what you're aiming for. Clear goals, so you can tell the work that moves you forward from the work that just keeps you busy.

  • Pick your main thing for this season. Lots of things can be important. Only one or two can come first right now. We decide what that is for the next few months, and what waits. (And no, five priorities are not priorities.)

  • Guard your attention. Once you know your main thing, focus is everything. We look at what pulls you away, from notifications and other people's emergencies to your own wandering mind, and protect your best hours for the work that counts.

  • Build a way of working that fits your life. Timeless principles like planning your week, grouping similar tasks and deciding in advance, shaped around your energy, your responsibilities and the season of life you're in. No one-size template.

  • Stop putting it off. Underneath most procrastination sits a feeling: fear of getting it wrong, doubt, boredom, overwhelm. You learn to feel it and start anyway. If perfectionism keeps you waiting for the perfect moment, read how to overcome perfectionism.

  • Say no, so you can say yes to what matters. If you can't say no, your diary fills up with other people's priorities. We work on boundaries and handing things over, without the guilt.

  • Follow through. I hold you accountable between sessions, so your plans turn into done.

That's how I work as a time management coach. We sort the calendar, and we sort the person using it.

What changes

Clients have hit their first monthly targets, had their biggest month in business, and set bigger goals and achieved them. And in an ordinary week, this is what's different:

  • You know what matters this season, and your best hours go to it.

  • At the end of the day, you can name what you moved forward.

  • You start the thing you've been putting off. Then you keep going.

  • Other people's "urgent" no longer fills your diary.

  • You switch off in the evening without the guilt.

  • You trust yourself again, because you do what you say you'll do.

Why work with a productivity coach?

You've read the books. You've tried the apps. You probably know more about productivity than most people. (I'm guessing there's a planner in a drawer somewhere with three weeks filled in.)

Information was never your problem. Strategy is free. AI will plan your week in seconds. It can't make you sit down and do the work when everything in you wants to check your emails first.

That part takes a person who knows you, spots where you slip, and won't let you off the hook. Warmly. But still.

Every month the important thing waits, it costs you. Money, opportunities, and the business or career you know you're capable of, still on hold while you wait for "things to calm down". Another year can pass like that. Then another.

What clients say

"Recognising the difference between actual focussed work to drive the business forwards and work that was just work to keep the wheels moving was key. I have far better time management skills."

Claire Crowley, Online Fitness Coach and host of The Strong Feminine

"It's not just talking through issues, but ideas and proper plans to put in place that help. I wouldn't be this far along in my goals in such a short time without your support!"

Daniela Previti, Astrologist & Coach, Netherlands

"Alex gave me time focused tasks that allowed me to fit them into my life without feeling overwhelmed."

Donna Taylor, Fashion & Personal Stylist

Productivity coaching FAQs

What does a productivity coach do?

A productivity coach helps you spend your time and energy on what matters most, and follow through. Here's how I do it. First, we find where you get in your own way: the habits, fears and beliefs that keep you busy instead of moving forward. Second, we build a way of working that fits you and your life. Third, I hold you accountable, so what you plan in our sessions actually gets done.

Should I hire a productivity coach or a consultant?

It depends on where the problem sits. A consultant looks at your processes and tools and tells you what to change. A coach works with you, the person doing the work. If your business needs new software or a new workflow, hire a consultant. If you already know what to do and still don't do it, that's coaching territory. Many of my clients came to me after yet another business strategy programme. They had the plan. What they needed was help with whatever kept stopping them from using it.

Why haven't time management tips worked for me?

Because most tips and systems were built for someone else's brain, life and season. And because no system can handle the feeling that makes you avoid the task in the first place. In my experience, people who "can't stick to a system" are usually trying to follow one that doesn't fit them. We take the principles that work for everyone and build the rest around you.

Is productivity coaching about doing more?

No. We cut the work that only keeps you busy and make room for the work that matters. Some clients end up working fewer hours and getting more done. And yes, recovery is part of it. The best performers work hard and recover well. You do the work that matters, then you switch off without the guilt.

What will productivity coaching actually change for me?

You'll know your main thing for this season and spend your best hours on it. You'll start what you've been putting off and keep going. You'll say no without the guilt. And you'll trust yourself again, because you keep your promises to yourself. That last one changes far more than your to-do list.

What's the difference between a life coach and a productivity coach?

A life coach looks at your whole life. A productivity coach focuses on how you use your time, attention and energy. I do both, because they're connected. A hard season at home shows up in your diary, and an out-of-control diary shows up at home. If you want the bigger picture, have a look at my life and mindset coaching.

Can productivity coaching make me a better leader?

Yes. When you're clear on your priorities, your team gets clear priorities too. When you guard your focus, you stop being the bottleneck everyone waits on. And when you follow through, people trust your word. For leaders inside a company, see my leadership coaching. For business owners, my CEO coaching.

How much does productivity coaching cost?

It depends on what you need, so I'll give you a personalised quote once we've talked. My main programme is six months long, with 60 to 90 minute sessions and unlimited support between them. You won't pay anything for the initial conversation or the deep consultation, so you'll know exactly what you're getting first.

Do you work online?

Yes, all my coaching happens online, on Zoom, so it fits around your diary (which, let's be honest, is part of why you're here). I work with clients across the UK, Europe, the US and wherever in the world you are.

Ready to stop waiting for Monday?

Next Monday will come either way.

Spend it the way you spent the last one, or start the thing that matters and keep going.

Are you willing?
